I came back to hear Midori sing this Garland hit, and think Midori took the prize. How about, "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar? I'd consider that a favor.

As a fan of Tapestry, Midori sadly sang this "Rainbow" song better than Judy Garland, and I do not say that lightly. I am going to change my mind midcourse, and call it a tie. I watched her daughter Liza Minelli sing back in the military some where between 69-73, in NYC. I love hearing Midori sing regular songs that show another facet of her voice, that I was mute on. The richness of her voice is as smoothe as a gravy sandwich. I know one woman she does sound like that was on AGT or probably BGT about 8 years ago. She was a middle aged woman from my country of my birth Scotland. Simon Cowell got a dig in before her performance, but he is from England. If you deny yourself listening to her, like Midori, you have cheated yourself. Way to go Midori, as you must be having a blast.

Nothing wrong with melding the vernacular with the classical. From Barry Truax and Tim Brady to Christos Hatzis, from Gordon Lightfoot and Ian and Sylvia to Joni Mitchell, Canadian music is consistently interesting. Love the Henry Cowell thundering clusters before Gershwin emerges and becomes Rachmaninoff in the piano solo. Well done!

My favorite male performer, whom I could imagine on Broadway. I would love to hear him sing "Maria" from West Side Story," or even better, the role of Jesus, in "Jesus Christ Superstar" in which I personally saw on Broadway, with original cast. This young man has the latitude to write his own ticket, career wise.

Really great short video, but that woman has talent. I wish you could come a bit south, so I could attend a performance, and you could do an "Opera in a Box" as they look neat.

Here I thought that true divas and divos go into suspended animation without an audience. It's much more tragic than that! Seriously, great comic acting as well as a lovely voice.
